We made it to the end of our third round and this ORC transformation is something we are so so proud of! The DDCO Main Bedroom and Ensuite Half Bath is DONEEE!
First, I want to thank Linda Weinstein, the woman behind the scenes of One Room Challenge. If she wouldn't have created this challenge, I wouldn't have a bi-annual excuse to get projects done around the house. On a more serious note, ORC has been a platform that we have cherished for the community, the friends we have made, the spaces forever changed, but also a jump start for our business and the relationships we hold with our sponsors. Without this platform, it would have been a lot harder for our little ol' account to be noticed by the brands we work with. We will forever be grateful! In addition, we want to thank Better Homes and Gardens for being the media partner of this challenge. They have been creating and sharing stories and inspiration for a very long time and we are honored to participate in a challenge hosted with them. Without further ado....

The Textiles
The main furniture focus of a bedroom is typically the bed so we wanted it to be perfect! One of the first things we planned for in the space was the mattress and the linens. We had heard wonderful things about Tuft and Needle from our friends so we reached out and they sent us their Original Mattress and Mattress Topper! Holy moly has it been a game changer. We have been sleeping so sound while we have been up there. After a long day of reno, a space to relax like this bed is everything.
Dressing the bed with layers of luxury was our next step! We started our bed-scape with the Cultiver Linen Sheet Set with Pillowcases in White, a white waffle weave blanket, and then we layered in their Linen Duvet Cover Set with Shams in Smoke Gray and finished it off with a beautiful collection of pillows from Studio Pillows, and an effortless Harlow Turkish Throw from Olive and Linen. To tie in the striped throw, we featured their Allez Turkish Towel, Marlowe Pure Linen Turkish Hand Towel, and Whisper Weight Towel Set in the bathroom! The quality and selection they offer is amazing. In addition to a few pillows on the bed, we also featured pillows from UUSI Studio. Their REINO pillow was perfect for our newly upholstered chair!

The Lighting
We partnered with Lighting Unlimited in Cameron Park and their showroom is breathe taking. They have so many lines available and were such a big help during the process with backorder dates and delays due to COVID. Their customer service is amazing and Kathy was a rock during the selections. We choose their One Light Bath in Heritage Brass by Hinkley for the Bath Sconces and their One Light Wall Swinger in Aged Brass by Robert Abbey for the Nightstand Sconces. We couldn't be happier with how they look in the space!

The Artwork
Late last year when K Khrysty Fine Art did her illustration challenge, I knew I needed to feature a few of her drawings in this new space. I had a hard time deciding between her Western Larch Pine Fine Art Giclee Print and White Pine Fine Art Giclee Print so I told her to surprise me and she sent both! They make the perfect pair for the space and are so stunning.
Our amazing sponsor Deb Presutto used our engagement photo as inspiration to create a new piece for her stunning collection of landscapes and we were so honored to feature the original Lake Tahoe Mountains in the cabin. This is the view I saw behind Rory when he asked me to marry him last June and it will be one of my favorites for the rest of our lives.

The Decor
Our friends over at Left Coast Candle Company sent us a few of their soy candles to enjoy and we fell in love the second we opened the package. The scents are so so good. They sent over their Chill (Tangerine + Peach Tea), Sun Kissed (Pineapple Juice + Kiwi) from their Summer Solstice Collection, and Happy (Pear + Honey) from their Standard Collection.
I don't even know if this next piece is decor. Is a mirror but ITS ALSO THE HEATING FOR THE ENTIRE SPACE. Yea, your read that correctly. This mirror is an infrared radiant heating panel from WarmlyYours! We chose the Ember Mirror Radiant Panel - 600W - 35" x 24" - Plug-in and it looks absolutely incredible. It was so easy to install and only took about 10 minutes from unboxing to heat! The mirror comes with a sticky cornered template and felt pads that protect the wall. You simply hang up the template, install the screws in their designated area, and hang! You would never know that the mirror has the heating element and lays so flush on the wall. Its perfect for older homes that want to rid their wall mounted outdated heating systems!!

The Hardware
When we began the design for the bathroom, we knew that we wanted to feature Emtek. Their product is gorgeous and their selection is outstanding. One of our favorite products from them is their Cabinet Latch. We paired it with a few bathroom essentials like their Sandcast Bronze 3 Hooks with Rectangular Plate and their Sandcast Bronze Paper Holder - Bar Style.
